FRIDAY OCTOBER 12, 6:00 PM
Launch of the book "Guimarães Jazz 35 Anos"
Free entry, until full capacity is reached

Following on from Novembro, the publication that documented the festival’s first 25 years, this new book revisits the most recent decade and traces the artistic evolution of Guimarães Jazz, as well as its growing national and international profile.
Through texts, images, and documentary material, the book revisits moments, key figures, and projects that have shaped the festival’s journey, while also providing an overview of the musicians and nationalities represented on its stages across 35 editions. More than simply establishing a chronology, the book seeks to reveal an identity shaped by discovery, experimentation, artistic dialogue, and the creation of unique and unrepeatable musical experiences.
Featuring texts by Manuel João Neto, Susana Sardo, and Esser Jorge Silva, coordinated by Ivo Martins, with editorial concept by A Oficina, design by Vera Velez, and images drawn from the festival’s archive, Guimarães Jazz 35 Anos is both a record of memory and a reflection on the continuity and renewal of a cultural project deeply connected to the city.
The book launch marks the first public celebration of Guimarães Jazz’s 35th anniversary, with the next edition taking place from 12 to 21 November 2026. The programme brings together new creations, festival premieres, and artists such as Toninho Horta, Kurt Elling, Peter Evans, Kurt Rosenwinkel, and ARTEMIS, while continuing the partnerships, Jam Sessions, and educational component that have characterised the project.
